SLCG would like to proudly announce and introduce Dan Rubright as our new Community Engagement & Partnerships Manager! As a lifelong musician and educator in St. Louis, we are overjoyed to bring Dan onto our team to help promote and provide sponsorships for our concert series and education programming.
Dan Rubright is a guitarist, composer, bandleader, and educator.
As a guitarist, Dan has worked with some of the top musical artists in the Saint Louis community and beyond. He has performed as guitarist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Muny, and Opera Theater of Saint Louis, among others.
Dan attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in jazz performance. From the mid-80’s till 2010, Dan served as adjunct professor in the jazz studies department at Webster University.
As composer, Dan has written music for 5 films, and numerous works for other commercial mediums. His writing style blends jazz, classical, rock, and world music. He was the recipient of a 2019 Artist Fellowship Grant for music composition from the Regional Arts Commission in St. Louis.
He is currently an adjunct music faculty member at Washington University.
